Our mission is to serve the owners, operators, buyers, sellers, developers, and investors in the seniors housing and assisted living industry by offering a range of services to help them maximize their objectives and investment returns.

The Haven team brings a unique combination of finance, real estate, business, development, operations, and healthcare experience to serve our varied senior housing clients. We operate on a team approach, which allows our clients to benefit from the experience and expertise of the whole Haven team. Our efforts are focused on the areas of independent living, assisted living, active adult, and communities that specialize in Alzheimer’s and memory care.

John Hauber


John is an accomplished faith-driven entrepreneur with a track record of success in building, coaching, and leading talented teams. He continues to demonstrate expertise in identifying and capitalizing on market trends to develop and capture new business opportunities and grow market share. He’s a dynamic communicator, skilled at developing relationships, and a seasoned negotiator. He founded HSI with an ambition to utilize his passion for seniors and real estate. His grandmother lived with Alzheimer’s for 20 years which had a direct impact on him.

He is the CEO and President of HavenCo, LLC. HavenCo is the parent company of Haven Senior Investments, Haven Realty, HavenCo Capital, Haven Healthcare Technologies, Haven Senior Living, and Haven Senior Developments. Over the last five years, the companies have been involved in all aspects of senior housing.

Over the last nineteen years, his companies have facilitated the closings of over $3 Billion+ in real estate holdings. He is a licensed real estate broker in Georgia and Colorado. He enthusiastically follows the foundation of God, Family, and then Business.

Bill Bent


Bill Bent has over 35 years of experience scaling companies. He decided to take his talents to the senior housing industry to help those who care for our most vulnerable populations. He is enthusiastic to serve a God-based company. He is also an accomplished keynote speaker, author, and executive coach. Following near-death from a life-altering accident in 2014, he made it his mission to share with others both the wisdom of his life experience and his professional skill in helping companies grow and flourish. He is passionate about helping people be their best on all levels: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Bill has spoken at many company events, professional associations, Harvard University, and Bloomsburg University.

Prior to Bill becoming COO of Haven Senior Investments, he was five times named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Mortgage Executives by Mortgage Executive Magazine. In his 35-year career, he has twice grown the largest independent mortgage brokerages in the industry measured in annual fundings. These companies are Waterfield Mortgage Company and Academy Mortgage Company. He is an active Board of Directors member with the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching and the Colorado Homeownership Coalition. He previously was on the Board of Directors with Colorado Mortgage Lenders Association and Academy Mortgage Company. He is active on committees reporting to the Board of Directors with Craig Hospital Foundation and Mods4Quads.

He continues to inspire people to make positive changes in their lives and their businesses. His first book will be released in 2021. Bill lives in Evergreen, Colorado, with his wife, Liz, and three children. He is an avid runner, and enjoys hiking, skiing, and golfing.

Robin Gestal

Partner/EVP, Operations

Robin brings a unique combination of skills and experience to HSI in her role as Executive Vice President, Operations. Her background includes both finance and real estate investment as well as health care. She began her career on Wall Street in fixed income sales and trading and specialized in mortgage-backed securities, collateralized mortgage obligations, and creative cash flow structuring. Over the past ten years, Robin focused on investing in distressed real estate assets, having purchased repositioned and sold dozens of properties, including more than 300 units, valued over $20,000,000. Her specialty has been creative deal structuring and financing. More recently she has turned her focus toward assisted living. Robin’s years of experience as an EMT exposed her to the very real need for safer assisted living options for senior citizens. She now passionately focuses her efforts on structuring, financing and seeking out creative investment partnerships to increase the living options for the enormously growing population of seniors throughout the United States. Robin is an entrepreneur at heart and also coaches and mentors newer investors. Robin earned a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MA from Christies Education. She and her husband Ken have 6 children, are active in their local church and spend their free time keeping up with their expanding family.

John Gonzales

SVP of Consulting and Managed Services

With over 30 years of experience in the senior housing industry, John brings strong operational and marketing knowledge and the skill that encompasses ownership advocacy, start-up construction, acquisitions and “turn-around” projects.

John’s purpose is to apply this experience for the benefit of seniors and companies dedicated to serving them. John is an effective leader with a unique ability to identify, motivate and direct resources. He has a successful record in cost containment, creative problem-solving, increasing work force productivity and possesses excellent human relations skills. Mr. Gonzales is also a highly effective trainer and speaker, and has a solid track record in identifying and developing effective leaders within our industry.

John lives in Bonney Lake, Washington with Deborah, his wife of 25 years, and with their three beautiful and gifted children. 

Mr. Gonzales attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he majored in Music and minored in Computer Science. He is an accomplished trumpeter and stays in practice by playing for military funerals and memorial events.

John has been a Kid’s World and Life Group leader at Calvary Community Church.  He was elected the first HOA President of his community, Brookside, a 265 home community. In this capacity, John led the board in establishing the board’s mission, policies, procedures, budget process, and committees, all of which are still in use today.

Tina Rogers

VP of Sales Solutions

Senior Living Enthusiast serving the industry with 16 years of marketing solutions, new development strategies as well as Program development and design experience. Tina has built trust among investors and colleagues strategizing market trends in the senior housing industry. Proven revenue growth track record in new development as well as acquisitions. Tina enjoys the challenge of creating a competitive edge through increased brand recognition and high-performance sales team mentoring 

Born and raised in Louisiana, LSU is her Alma Mater. She leads an active lifestyle with her husband and 6 children.

James Allis

Director, Business Development

Dynamic business development professional with proven results driving sales as well as delivering strong and sustainable financial results.

Excels in multi-channel marketing environment, creating profitability through strategically building relationships within network. Utilizes vast array of strategies to improve sales performance of organizations including personnel training and development, cross-functional solution problem solving, customer service, strategic partnerships, and organizational development.

James resides in Littleton Colorado and enjoys Colorado outdoors and spends his leisure time hiking, golfing, and spending time with his two teenage boys.

Devon Erickson

Senior Analyst

After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, Devon moved to New York City to begin her career in Commercial Real Estate as an Associate in Cushman & Wakefield’s prestigious rotational program. She worked in all the major services lines within the industry including facility and property management, capital markets, brokerage, and consulting. This experience gave her valuable insight into every facet of commercial property management, creative deal structuring, and corporate portfolio strategy. After joining the Strategic Consulting team, Devon focused primarily on workplace strategy. She has worked on projects for top companies within the technology, government, non-profit, entertainment, and financial services industries.

During COVID, Devon decided to leave New York City and shift career paths to work in something she has always had a passion for – serving the growing senior population. She has volunteered in independent living and nursing homes since 2008 and finds great joy in spending time with and learning from the older population. She now lives in San Diego and spends her free time building relationships within her new church community, reading, and enjoying the sun.

David Winnie

Senior Housing Advisor - Utah, Nevada, Idaho

For the past three decades, David has worked, partnered, and associated with some of the best and brightest in the Commercial Real Estate arena. For that experience, he’s eternally grateful. These unique relationships have allowed his skill sets to flourish, include Strategic Site Selection, Development, Lease Negotiations, Acquisitions, Dispositions, Assemblages, and Entitlements. He has also been privileged to work with some of the top companies in the United States, including Home Depot, Walgreens, Albertsons, Kroger, Starbucks, and McDonald’s, to name a few. It’s allowed him to excel in all aspects of the commercial real estate development cycle. David is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Utah.

Rebecca Van Wieren

Senior Housing Advisor - Texas & California

Rebecca has worked in the senior housing market for 5 years. She is a native San Diegan and has been in the real estate industry since graduating from San Diego State University in 2000. After spending five years in a Builder Division of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in La Jolla she moved on to selling luxury real estate in Del Mar, North Coastal San Diego. Over the years she sold new construction for KSL Resorts and specialized in vacation homes and investments. In 2016, she switched focus to give back to the community using her experience for good to help meet the needs of the rapidly growing senior population. She started working with Haven Senior Investments in 2019 as a referral partner and has since been brought on as a Senior Housing Advisor. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys the beach, hiking and mountain biking with family in her hometown of Encinitas.

Dennis Stamey

Senior Housing Advisor - Georgia and Alabama

Dennis joined HSI with twenty years of success in the senior living industry. He specializes in operations, turn-around strategies for underperforming assets, site selection, and the purchase and sale of independent living, assisted living and memory care communities. His commitment to serving others has been a guiding principal of a distinguished career. 

Dennis is a Georgia Real Estate Broker and also holds licenses in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. He is a well-respected senior living executive who has dedicated his career to serving the industry he cares about, as an owner and operator of a variety of facility types.

Carmen Akins

Senior Housing Advisor - Georgia and Alabama

Carmen Akins is a Senior and Executive level Management Professional who served as the Executive Director of Governor’s Glen ALF in Metro Atlanta, Georgia for nearly 20 years. Carmen has over 25 years of overall management experience with a degree in organizational management & leadership. She is a creative and effective leader with demonstrated skills and comprehensive knowledge in senior living communities, human resource management, state guidelines, licensing, and regulatory standards. Carmen has a proven successful leadership record specializing in building, revitalizing, and optimizing a company, its processes, assessment systems, and strategies. Carmen has also participated in senior living facility mergers and acquisitions.

Carmen, who is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, knew early in her career that she had the drive and determination to lead.  Working in the industry that is responsible for the care of others, understanding the cycle of life, and managing a community that serves people is one of Carmen’s biggest accomplishments. Carmen was responsible for increasing the company census and revenue by nearly $500K.

With the motivation to always want more out of life, it was only natural that after many years of focusing in one industry, Carmen would find her way into the industry that struck her interest many years ago, real estate. Carmen is a Real Estate Broker and is Certified in Commercial Real Estate. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, shopping, and horseback riding.

Aaron Elyachar

Aaron has been involved with the commercial real estate industry for over seven years.  He obtained the prestigious CCIM Designation in 2016, a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Missouri, Kansas City in 2018, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, in 2012. Outside of work, he enjoys running marathons, helping others get in shape, working with others to build their businesses, playing music and writing song lyrics. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Whitney, and their son, Nash.

Mark Sullivan

Senior Housing Advisor - Ohio, Indiana, Michigan

Mark Sullivan has been the Managing Broker at Keller Williams Greater Columbus Realty since 2010 supporting the growth of over 200 agents. He has a long record of applying expertise in commercial real estate and seniors housing. Mark has been in the Real Estate business for 19 years and has volunteered and managed many committees, including KW Commercial, KW City Wide Agent Leadership Council, and was recently the President of The Gahanna Real Estate Association.

Prior to Keller Williams, Mark was the President and CEO of M.A. Sullivan Landscape Company for over 15 years, designing both residential and commercial landscapes and hard-scapes. Mark graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.

Richard has had a distinguished real estate career. For the last 13 years, he has focused on acquiring senior housing development sites, developing and building senior facilities in the MMA of Texas and Missouri. His development experience includes skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and IL cottages, and CCRCs. He has managed information databases that include the location of all existing senior facilities and hospitals in Texas. He is an expert at researching the demographics in selected areas for the development of sites. Richard is also a licensed real estate broker in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. He is an alumnus of Texas Tech Rawlins School of Business-Real Estate and Richland College.

Chris Guerra

Chris has a unique set of skills that will best help you on your path to buying, selling, or investing in the Senior Housing Market. From his background as a realtor in Colorado and Louisiana, he has a blend of experience and understanding of the ever-changing housing market. During his time at LSU Nursing school, Chris developed the skills to recognize each individual’s wants and, more importantly, their needs. He has had hands-on experience working with senior psychiatric facilities, which allowed him to care for others physically, emotionally, and personally. His compassion for others is what makes him the ideal Business Development Associate. Chris excels in a social atmosphere; he is charismatic, an attentive listener, goal-oriented, focused, and beyond all, an incredibly hard worker. He is result-oriented, a great multitasker, and can deal with any challenge life throws at him. Lane Tanney

Lane possesses many traits that are valuable in the Senior Housing Market, such as experience with real estate, soft skills, leadership development, helping/working with people one on one, etc. During his time at Bloomsburg University, School of Business, Lane had the opportunity to learn and practice skills that had challenged, encouraged, and continued to prepare him for his dreams and goals of impacting others’ lives through his career and daily action. Lane’s drive, vision, and experience make him a stellar Business Development Associate.

Outside of work, Lane enjoys being active in his community and helping with his college’s Christian organization and church. He also enjoys being outdoors, going for walks, working out, “his temple” and always learning something new.

Bud Rainsberger

Bud is the founder of Rainsberger Wealth Advisors, a financial advisory and wealth management firm that works with high-net-worth families and business owners throughout the nation. Bud started his financial career with A.G. Bud is the Managing Partner of Eagle Mountain Builders, Inc. a real estate development company located in Colorado Springs, Lincoln Lease Partners, and Sagebrush Investors, Inc., and sits on the board of directors of fuse sport, a software event management solution provider with clients including Special Olympics International, US Figure Skating, National Senior Games Association and many others around the globe.

He is also a graduate of Kansas State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Bud played strong safety for the KSU Wildcats.
